Now that your Camera has been prepared we're ready to start using your Walker and Reader devices.
To get you started, we've copied some basic information from larger Knoweldge Base articles. If you need more information on any of the below points you can click the link in the list to be taken to a more comprehensive article on the topic.
We'll start with your Walker:
- How to attach Walker to your camera
- How to turn on the Walker
- What those lights are trying to tell you
Then your Reader:
This Tutorial Video actually shows most of what you need to know at this stage, so have a watch... but don't forget there is usually a bunch of extra info in the written Knowledge Base articles AND some things (like the Camera settings that you just did) really need a good list, so don't skip reading things altogether!
You already learned how to pair the Reader from the video above, so lets just jump straight into what the Reader can tell you and how to scan IDs...
The Reader screen is how you can know what is going on with your Walker. In the top left you have the 3G/4G cellular information, then top right is battery levels for Walker and Reader respectively. The main section of the screen shows, from left to right, the number of Photos taken during this session, the number of IDs associated with this session of images and finally the number of images which are in the queue to sync/upload to the cloud. Under the screen you'll find three buttons.
How to activate the Scanner
Once the Reader is connected and displaying the standard screen, pressing the centre blue Reader button will activate the barcode scanner. A red dot and square will be projected from the top end of the Reader. Point that red dot at the barcode or QR code that you wish to scan. If it’s not scanning, try moving the Reader closer or further away from the barcode or QR code.
The red light will turn off again when it achieves a successful scan or after five seconds (whichever happens first). You’ll know you’ve had a successful read if the Reader beeps and buzzes, plus the number of IDs displayed on the screen will increase. You can see scanning in action in this video.
Now we'll show you how to configure things like Shooting Modes to customise how your Walker and Reader devices act. It's all done via the ELEMENTICE™ Console...
