Here's a list of words and what we mean when we use them. It works great when we use the same words as each other.
This is your Walker. The device you bought to help make your life better. It gets mounted to your camera and enables all the fancy functionality that you're about to love. There is no screen on the Walker, only Status Lights, but you can find out important information via a connected Reader or the ELEMENTICE Console.
This is your Reader device. It works as a pair with any Walker and provides information about the connected Walker including battery levels for both Walker & Reader and how many images are waiting to sync to the cloud.
A gallery is a collection of photos. We usually use this term to refer to a Personal Gallery for an attendee/individual. There are also "Event Galleries" which comprise all the images from any given Event, and "Shared Galleries" which are a collection of images which can be accessed via any Personal Gallery.
A Gallery will usually only include images from one event, but it is actually possible to make one personally Gallery show images from multiple different events which the person has attended.
The Gallery on the phone below is a Personal Gallery as viewed at "mypics.io" and the computer screen is an Event Gallery in your Console - complete with all your special admin tools.
Gallery Cards are the size of a business card with branding on one side and a QR code with instructions on the other. The purpose of a Gallery Card is to help people access their own Personal Gallery of photos straight away, without having to collect any personal information from them.
The code on each card is unique and corresponds directly to a gallery of photos at the website: mypics.io.
Gallery Cards are linked to an ELEMENTICE Member account. Your cards will work for any/all events you create in the ELEMENTICE.
A session is when you take a batch of photos and you allocate them to an ID/Gallery. Depending on the mode you are using, you might shoot first and scan IDs afterwards or you might scan IDs first and then take the photos. Regardless, each batch of images with an associated ID is called a session.
If you see the same person again and take another batch of photos which are allocated to their ID/Gallery, they still have one Gallery, but they now have two sessions of images in their Gallery.
There is no limit to the number of sessions a gallery can have added to it.
console.elementice.com is the web console where you can manage EVERYTHING: Event configurations, integrations, ordering additional Gallery Cards, checking/updating device settings and/or modifying watermarks or gallery messages... see? EVERYTHING.
Events are groupings of photos. Devices upload their images to the Event which they have been allocated to in the Console. The Event that the images are sent to will determine how the photos can be accessed, along with whether/what branding and messaging goes along with them.
Refers to whatever is being used as an ID – this could be an RFID, QR Code, Barcode or another format.
Now that we're speaking the same language, let get started working with new Walker and Reader devices. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3...
