If you are getting images in a gallery that don't match the intended face, here are a few things which may be causing it:
Facial Recognition is very powerful, but there are a few ways to trip it up and end up with the wrong / additional images in the user's gallery...
- Registering the wrong face
- Registering multiple faces
- Faces in the background
Registering the wrong face (no images)
Sometimes there are situations where parents take a selfie of themselves, not the child who will actually be in the photos. This results in no images making it into the gallery because facial recognition is looking for the parent's face, which does not appear in any photos.
The selfie at the end of the registration process needs to be person who will actually be in the photos.
Registering multiple faces (additional images)
If the registration process is completed multiple times, with exactly the same phone number, but different faces in the selfie each time, this will result in a gallery which features all the faces in all the selfies. Currently, the process does not delete the old selfie, it keeps both, and will use both for facial recognition.
To delete a selfie you can go to the Event Page > Galleries > Attendees and expand the row of the person in question. In that expanded roll, click on the "Reference Image". You'll get a larger view of the selfies being used and you can click "Remove" on any offending reference images.
Faces in the background (additional images)
Sometimes it will seem like the person is not in the image, but actually if you look closely, their face might be visible in the background of the image - even if small or partially hidden. We have parameters set to try to minimise this, but it is a balancing act between letting too many images through, and accidentally stopping images which should go through. If you are finding this is a problem, please contact us so that we can tweak the parameters for better results.
