How to set up Registration for events using either Messaging and/or Facial Recognition integrations.
Event Registration allows users/guests to create their own "Attendee" for an event from their own phone, including taking a selfie to be used for Facial Recognition. When used in conjunction with Facial Recognition and/or Messaging, it can form a completely contact-free image delivery process.
Enabling Registration for your event
Once you have created your event, go to the Event page and under Event Settings you will find the option to turn on Registration. Set Registration to Open and click the tick. If you have done this correctly, you'll notice that there is now a Registration area appearing below the event settings.
You can edit the registration form, including making multiple pages of questions and creating new custom fields as well as activating facial recognition if you want to use it. the button to enter the form editor is the blue button to the right side of the screen.
The registration link is shown at the bottom and is long for security reasons. To easily copy the entire URL you can click on the small double square symbol at the end of the URL space. Alternatively, you can click the small QR code in the same corner, which will show you a downloadable QR code which you can print or email so that customers can scan the code with their phone's camera to be taken to the registration link.
This registration link should be given out to whoever you want to register for this event.
*If you are using facial recognition, you should make sure that people complete their registration using a device with a forward facing camera so that they can take a selfie to register their face.
*If you are using Messaging integration you should make sure that people know that the number they enter here is the number which will receive a link to their gallery.
It is important to use the unique Registration link for THIS event and not others because this link specifically creates Attendees for this event ONLY. If somebody has registered for a different event before, they will need to do so again for this event.
*When you finish editing your registration form for the first time, you should be prompted to enable related integrations if they are not already enabled... if that doesn't happen please enable messaging and facial recognition as required: See this article for Messaging Integration and see this article for Facial Recognition.
Example of the Registration process your guests will follow
This is set up for a school formal which will be using Facial Recognition and SMS messaging...
Then they are taken to a screen with their camera turned on.
They can take a selfie and then either confirm or retry the selfie. If the selfie is too dark they will be asked to try again and when taken back to the camera page, there will also be a dropdown message with a link to this article in our Knowledge Base. This is because some devices will have camera permissions turned off resulting in a black screen instead of a selifie. If this is the case, the KB article will help them allow access so that the camera can work.
Exporting Event Registration information
If you plan to export the information of all attendees after the Event you can export a csv file by going to the Event > Galleries > Attendees and selecting Export CSV.
